KFCB Tree Giveaway- February 21, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Polo Fields Barn
In honor of our nation's 250th birthday and in order to increase our county’s tree canopy, KFCB is giving away 250 native trees! Residents may select from the following types of trees (1 per family please) through the registration link below. Scroll down to learn about each tree.

White Fringe (3 gallon)
​
A small deciduous tree in the olive family featuring fragrant, strap-like,
white flowers in the Spring.
Size range: 12 to 30 feet in height, Spread 12 to 20 feet
Shape: Oval
Sun Preference: Partial Sun/Shade, Full Sun
Soil Preference: Moist, Well Drained, Acidic

Allegheny Serviceberry (5 gallon)
A small understory tree with early white spring flowers, orange-red fall
color, and striking gray bark. Plus edible purplish-black fruit for birds
in late summer.
Size range: 15 to 40 feet, Spread 15 to 20 feet
Shape: Vase
Sun Preference: Full Sun, Partial Sun/Shade
Soil Preference: Loamy, Moist, Well Drained

Eastern Red Bud (5 gallon)
A perennial deciduous tree that blooms in rosy pink flowers in April
and features heart-shaped leaves that emerge red, become green in the
summer, and turn yellow in the fall.
Size range: 20 to 30 feet in height, Spread 25 to 35 feet
Shape: Rounded
Sun Preference: Full Sun, Partial Sun/Shade
Soil Preference: Acidic, Alkaline, Clay, Loamy, Moist, Rich, Sandy, Well Drained
