KFCB offers programs for boy and girl scouts of all ages. Through 1 hour engaging hands-on outdoor activities, scouts can earn achievements, electives, and badges that adhere to BSA and Girl Scout requirements.  *Actual badges are not included

BSA PROGRAMS

​

MERIT BADGES

Environmental Science: Learn what it would be like to be an environmental scientist, making observations and carrying out experiments to investigate the natural world. Session focus: Watershed Science and Water Pollution. (Covers Section C - #3)

 

Soil and Water Conservation: Learn about soil erosion, watershed science, water pollution, and tour a waste water treatment plant.   

 

TIGER REQUIREMENTS AND ELECTIVES

My Tiger Jungle: Explore our watershed. (Covers Requirements 1 to 4)

Tigers in the Wild: Take a walk on the wild side. (Covers Requirements 4, 6, and 7)

 

WOLF REQUIREMENTS AND ELECTIVES 

Paws on the Path:  Take a 1 mile group hike to discover some of the plants and animals that share our watershed. (Covers Requirements 5 and 6)

Spirit of the Water: Learn about water quality and conservation at Lake Lanier, followed by a quick jump in the water! (Covers Requirements 1- 5)

 

GIRL SCOUT PROGRAMS

DAISY REQUIREMENTS

Eco-Learner: Take a walk while learning how to protect nature from pollutants.  

​

BROWNIE REQUIREMENTS

Hiker: Enjoy a nature-based scavenger hunt as you explore the greenway at Fowler Park.  

​

CADETTE REQUIREMENTS

Trees: Learn how KFCB helped the City of Cumming become an official Tree City. Take a walk and explore the trees that create the ecosystem at Fowler Park as well how to properly measure and age trees.

​

AMBASSADOR REQUIREMENTS

Water: At Lake Lanier, create water-based art, learn about local water quality issues, and investigate ways to be a part of the solution!
